5-Year/60,000-Mile Basic Limited Warranty

This is the broadest coverage in the package. It applies to most vehicle components outside of normal wear items—so if something fails that shouldn't, this is what protects you. It runs from the original in-service date.

A few specific items work on their own timelines within the basic coverage:

• Audio and entertainment systems: 3 years / 36,000 miles
• Battery: 3 years / 36,000 miles
• Brake and clutch linings: 1 year / 12,000 miles

10-Year/100,000-Mile Powertrain Limited Warranty

Powertrain coverage picks up where the basic warranty leaves off and runs to 10 years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first. It covers the engine—including the cylinder block, cylinder head, and all internal parts—along with the transmission, transaxle, and the drivetrain components that connect them.

This warranty applies to original owners and Certified Pre-Owned buyers. If you purchase a used Kia that isn't CPO, the powertrain coverage is reduced.

5-Year/100,000-Mile Anti-Perforation Warranty

This one gets overlooked. Kia covers rust-through damage caused by manufacturing defects in the body for up to five years or 100,000 miles. In a state like North Carolina, where humidity and seasonal weather can contribute to corrosion over time, this coverage adds valuable long-term protection.

5-Year/60,000-Mile Roadside Assistance

Every new Kia comes with 24-hour roadside assistance for the first five years or 60,000 miles. Towing, flat-tire service, jump-starts, and lockout help are all included. Trip interruption benefits are also part of the program—if your vehicle requires a warranty-related repair far from home, Kia will reimburse up to $100 per day for up to three days for meals and lodging. A call to Kia's Consumer Assistance Center is required to initiate that process.

What the Warranty Doesn't Cover

The Kia warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship. It doesn't cover routine maintenance, wear items, or damage from accidents, misuse, or neglect.
