Kia Seltos SUVS Blue and Gray

The 2027 Kia Seltos Is Here. Here’s What Changed.

Kia took the Seltos back to the drawing board for 2027, and the result speaks for itself. When it debuted at the New York International Auto Show, it was clear this was a full reinvention—not a refresh. A turbocharged engine producing 190 horsepower. A first-ever hybrid powertrain with available eAWD. Class-leading second-row legroom and cargo space. Design language drawn directly from the award-winning 2027 Telluride.  Burlington Kia of NC serves one of the most competitive Kia markets in North Carolina, and the 2027 Seltos is the compact SUV that drivers in Burlington, Durham, Chapel Hill, Mebane, and Apex have been waiting for.

Design That Doesn’t Compromise

Kia wasn’t subtle with the 2027 Seltos redesign. The influence of the 2027 Telluride is immediately visible—flush door handles, a broader and more planted stance, and purposeful, dark-themed X-Line accents give this compact crossover a presence the previous generation simply didn’t have. It looks confident without trying too hard, which is exactly where a well-designed vehicle should land.

Two Powertrains. Both Genuinely Worth Considering.

Kia built the 2027 Seltos around two distinct powertrain paths, and neither one feels like an afterthought.

Standard Gas (Expected Summer 2026)

The base engine is a 2.0L four-cylinder built for smooth, dependable everyday performance—the kind of powertrain that earns trust over time. The conversation really picks up with the available 1.6L turbocharged engine, which delivers 190 horsepower and meaningfully transforms the driving experience. In X-Line trim, that turbo pairs with AWD and Multi-Terrain Mode for snow, mud, and sand, making this far more than a commuter crossover.

Hybrid with eAWD (Expected Late 2026)

This is the one that separates the 2027 Seltos from the competition. A hybrid powertrain with available electronic all-wheel drive at this price point is genuinely uncommon in the entry CUV segment. The 1.6L hybrid system is built for real-world efficiency without sacrificing performance, and eAWD delivers traction confidence that most buyers in this class can’t find elsewhere. Inventory will be tight early—this one is worth reserving early.

Interior Space That Outperforms Expectations

The entry CUV segment has a well-earned reputation for shortchanging rear passengers. The 2027 Seltos breaks that pattern. It earns class-leading second-row legroom, giving adults in the back actual comfort rather than just adequate space. Fold the rear seats, and you get class-leading cargo space as well, paired with an adjustable cargo management system designed to handle everything from a Durham day trip to a full weekend’s worth of gear.

Technology That Earns Its Place

Standard equipment on the 2027 Seltos begins with a 12.3-inch touchscreen running Wireless Apple CarPlay and Wireless Android Auto—a baseline that holds up against vehicles at considerably higher price points. The available digital cockpit builds on that with nearly 30 inches of combined display space: a 12.3-inch instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, and a 5-inch climate display. The result is an interior that feels genuinely premium, not just well-equipped.

Additional available features include:

  • 360-degree Surround View Monitor and Blind-Spot View Monitor
  • Panoramic sunroof
  • Heated and ventilated front seats
  • Memory driver’s seat

The X-Line Turbo Is the Trim to Target

If you’re serious about the 2027 Seltos, start with the X-Line Turbo. The 190-hp turbocharged engine, AWD, 8.1 inches of ground clearance, and Multi-Terrain Mode covering snow, mud, and sand make it the most well-rounded version of an already strong vehicle. The dark exterior accents and flush door handles round out a look that’s as capable as what’s under the hood. This will be the first trim to move at  Burlington Kia of NC.

24 Safety Features. 13 Come Standard.

The 2027 Seltos is equipped with 13 standard collision-avoidance and driver-assistance features, with up to 24 available across the lineup. In a segment where safety technology is often an expensive upgrade, a baseline that strong is worth noting.

Kia Warranty Remains the Industry Standard

Every 2027 Seltos comes with Kia’s 10-year/100,000-mile Powertrain Limited Warranty and 5-year/60,000-mile Basic Limited Warranty. It’s the same coverage that drivers across Burlington, Mebane, Chapel Hill, Durham, and Apex have relied on for years, and it carries forward without compromise on the 2027 model.

Coming Soon to Burlington Kia

The gas-powered 2027 Seltos is expected to arrive in summer 2026, with the Hybrid following in late 2026. Both will see strong early demand—especially the X-Line Turbo and the Hybrid with eAWD.
